Household Truce

Chilli responds to Bart’s January image
I have seen the snow-cat.
I have notes.
This is not sleeping.
This is strategic withdrawal.
I have folded myself
into a premium croissant
of luxury and judgment.
Do not confuse this pose
with vulnerability.
I am merely recharging
my entitlement.
The ears are tucked
to block unsolicited opinions.
The paws are hidden
because peasants do not deserve them.
If you require access to my presence,
please submit snacks.
If you make noise,
I will remember.
I am warm.
I am round.
I am booked and unavailable.
Love me quietly.
— Chilli 🌶️
Spoiled. Male. Icon.
(Observing safely from the Canary Islands,
where snow is a rumor.)

Aww 🥰💜 thank you so much — that means a lot to me.
I’m delighted the “premium croissant / of luxury and judgment” landed 😄 Chilli insists it’s an entirely accurate self-portrait.
Thank you for the warm welcome to the Monday Poetry Prompt — it’s a joy to play in this space and respond to such evocative visuals.
