For today’s prompt — “An encouraging song” — my heart chose a song written by Liam Payne, long before the world knew how much courage he carried beneath the jokes:
🎶 Fireproof – (LP Show version)
Liam once shared in an interview that the idea for Fireproof came from a real moment.
He and a friend were in his apartment when a fire broke out. When the others asked how he was, Liam — being Liam — joked and said:
“I must be fireproof.”
That was so him.
Always finding humour, even in serious situations.
Always lightening the weight, even when something frightening had just happened.
Years later, during the pandemic, he performed Fireproof again in the LP Show — stripped back, raw, intimate. That version hits differently. It feels less like bravado and more like quiet truth. Like a man saying: I’ve been through things… and I’m still here.
That’s why this song encourages me.
Not because it pretends nothing hurts — but because it shows resilience wrapped in warmth and humour. Strength without hardness. Courage without denial.
Maybe that’s why this version has become my ringtone.
A small reminder throughout the day that even when life gets overwhelming, I can still breathe, still smile, still stand.
Encouragement doesn’t always roar.
Sometimes it laughs, shrugs, and says:
“I’m okay. I’m still standing. I must be fireproof.”
