DailyPrompt—2169
What makes you feel nostalgic?

New Year’s Eve.
Standing at the threshold between what has been and what is yet to come.
Couldn’t have asked for a better blog prompt today, could we? 😅✨
I’ve been looking through “old” photos recently —
Christmases past, New Year’s celebrations,
moments that once felt ordinary,
now glowing like little stars in memory.
It’s wild to look back and see how small my children once were
when we left Norway,
almost 15 years ago now.
What a journey that was —
new country, new culture, new language…
and yet they adapted with such grace and courage.
They also grew up watching us as parents learn, make mistakes, figure life out in real time.
No parental pedestal in this house — and maybe that’s a good thing 😂
They learned we’re human too.
What I’ve really discovered though is this:
we don’t only need photographs to remember.
These daily writing prompts have become their own kind of memory-keeping.
They’ve brought comfort.
Healing.
Reflection.
Truth.
And one soul has nudged me more than anyone back into writing, creating, expressing again:
Liam.
My oldest son is older than Liam was…
yet somehow Liam’s soul continues to inspire, guide, and give —
even from beyond the veil.
That kind of impact doesn’t fade.
It echoes.
To everyone who has followed, read, supported, and inspired me on WordPress these past months —
thank you.
Truly.
For walking with me.
For listening.
For sharing your hearts too.
Here’s to memory.
Here’s to creativity.
Here’s to truth, courage, and love as we step into a new year.
Happy New Year 🍾🎉✨
May 2026 meet us gently.
