In response to Sadje prompt #320 What do you see:
What do you see # 320- 22nd December’25

Under a winter sky stitched with quiet stars, the circus tent glowed red and gold like a beating heart. Shadows danced against the canvas — an elephant swaying gently, a lion stretching like dawn, giraffes bowing as if whispering secrets to the moon.
Inside, there was no roaring crowd, no glittering spotlight, no applause.
Just stillness. Waiting.
Then, soft as snowfall, came a sound.
Not trumpets.
Not music.
But bells… tiny, fragile, hopeful bells.
Two little woolly lambs peeked past the curtain of night — one snow-white, one twilight-gray — carried gently in the hands of a child. Their wool shimmered under the fairy lights as if each curl held a wish.
“Tonight isn’t about tricks,” the child whispered to the animals.
“Tonight isn’t about spectacle.
Tonight is about warmth, and home, and hearts remembering how to glow.”
The elephant lowered its great head.
The lion rested its mighty paws.
Giraffes leaned close, listening.
And in that quiet tent, something beautiful happened.
Not magic of illusion.
Magic of belonging.
The little lambs were hung upon a small pine tree in the center ring — the simplest of trees, yet suddenly the most radiant thing in the world. Light kissed wool. Shadows softened. The whole tent breathed as if wrapped in love.
No roaring crowds needed.
No grand finale required.
Just a moment of peace shared between wild hearts and gentle ones, between strength and softness, between circus lights and Christmas light.
Outside, the cold night carried their warmth to the stars.
And if you listened closely enough, you could almost hear laughter, breath, heartbeat, and the hush of a world remembering kindness again.
Season blessings 🙌
