Daily Prompt—2119
Who is the most famous or infamous person you have ever met?

This one always makes me smile.
It takes me back to the summer of 2009, when life felt like a crossroads —
half-mystical, half-rock-and-roll.
That year, I was hired as a fortune-teller at a music festival.
(Yes, really. Sometimes my life feels like a movie 😂)
For two days, I read palms, tarot, angel cards, and astrology charts
for anyone who wandered into my little temporary world.
The festival provided me a small camping wagon,
and from morning until late evening it was full of people —
curious, hopeful, hungover, lovestruck, anxious —
all looking for guidance.
And then…
the biggest band of the festival walked up to me.

The headliner:
🎸 The Alarm — the Welsh rock band.
I was sitting outside my wagon,
coffee in hand, cigarette in the other,
pretending to look cool (as one does 😄).
Suddenly, their singer — Mike Peters —
walked straight up to me and asked for a reading.
Apparently, they’d heard I was the most popular stop at the festival.
I froze.
Stuttered like a little kid.
Honestly, I was praying the ground would swallow me whole 🤣
But of course, I said yes. I gave him a full reading —
cards, symbols, messages — the works.
When we finished, he tried to pay me,
but I refused.
I told him what was true:
It was an honour to read for him.
Later that day, a local newspaper came by
and did an interview with me —
camera, notebook, the whole thing.
A surreal day.

🕊️
Fast-forward to April 2025 —
I learned that Mike Peters had passed away at 66,
after his battle with cancer.
My heart sank.
He was brave, charismatic, and kind.
I’m grateful I got to cross paths with him,
even just briefly.
Fly high, Mike.
I’m sure the angels are happier now —
they probably needed some punk rock anyway 💜
My favourite song of theirs?
“Sixty Eight Guns.”
Always.
