Daily prompt —2116

What podcasts are you listening to?

This year, podcasts have become little companions in my ears —
teachers, storytellers, and lifelines.
Some feed my curiosity.
Some feed my soul.
Some have walked beside me
through the hard journey of seeking truth for Liam.

Here are a few of my favourites:

🎙️ 1) DOAC — The Diary of a CEO

with Steven Bartlett

My very first time watching Steven Bartlett was because of Liam.
He appeared on the podcast in June 2021,
and I remember how deeply that interview affected me.

Liam spoke openly about his mental health
and his struggles with alcohol —
not in a dramatic way,
but honestly, vulnerably.

He shared that some of those struggles began when he was just 16,
after joining One Direction on The X Factor.
He explained that because of how big things became so fast,
the safest way the team could manage the situation
was to keep the boys indoors — often isolated in hotel rooms.

And, as he said:

> “The problem was… the best way to secure us, because of how big it got, was to lock us in a room. And, of course, what is in the room? A minibar.”

He added:

> “At a certain point, I just thought, ‘Well, I’m going to have a party for one,’ and that just seemed to carry on throughout many years of my life.”

Hearing him say that out loud
was heartbreaking and brave.
It showed a side of fame
we don’t often see —
the cost that hides behind the cameras,
tour buses,
and screaming crowds.

That interview stayed with me.
It also made me notice Steven more —
how calm and grounded he was,
how he held space without judgment.
No rushing.
No sensationalising.

Just listening.

Not long after,
Steven and Liam continued their connection
through business ventures,
including NFTs (if memory serves).

From that moment,
I became a regular listener of DOAC.
Steven’s gentle way of opening conversations
and guiding guests deeper
makes him one of my favourite voices
in the podcast world today.

🎙️ 2) Wisdom From North

A beautiful one for those walking a spiritual path.
It explores the bigger questions of existence —
life, death, meaning, intuition,
and our place in the Universe.
Gentle, expansive, and awakening.
It feels like sitting in good company.

🎙️ 3) Harsh Reality

Their bio says:

> “Reacting to anything from crime and trending news to crazy people online.”

Liam’s case brought me here.
And honestly,
they’ve covered it with clarity, respect, and depth
— better than most.

🎙️ 4) Down the Rabbit Hole News

Another channel that has done
some of the best work
on the Liam Payne case —
reading court transcripts,
fact-checking claims,
and laying out timelines.

For those seeking truth,
this one is invaluable.

🎙️ 5) DEAD Talks Podcast

A mix of insight, conversation, and perspective
around life, loss, and what might come after.

Some of these I listen to on Spotify,
others on YouTube.
Depends on the day —
and the mood.

Together, they weave a little world
of truth-seeking,
spiritual exploration,
and curiosity.
They keep my mind engaged
and my heart open.

And in a year filled with grief,
questions,
and searching…
they’ve helped me feel
a little less alone.
