Illusion: “I’m not allowed to want more.”
Truth Rising: Desire isn’t a sin — it’s my soul reaching toward what nourishes it.
Today’s prompt asks:
What illusions or stories am I ready to release?
What truth is rising beneath them?
This one hit me straight in the chest.
Because the illusion that lives deepest in me is this:
> “I’m not allowed to want more.”
And it’s not just a sentence —
it’s a weight.
A sensation deep in my body
that tightens my stomach whenever desire rises.
Because this belief isn’t only mine.
It feels ancient.
Inherited.
Passed down through generations of women
who were taught to shrink,
to serve,
to be grateful for what they were given
and never ask for more.
Women who were told that desire —
emotional, spiritual, physical —
was dangerous, sinful, selfish.
That wanting more meant you were ungrateful
or unfaithful.
That to reach was to risk everything.
So now, when I feel desire stirring in me,
especially in this season of my life,
my whole system reacts.
Not because desire is wrong —
but because somewhere inside me
is an echo of every woman who learned
that wanting more
could cost her everything.
It’s no wonder it makes me feel sick to challenge it.
This is ancestral programming.
It has lived in us for centuries.
My Sagittarius Sun wants to roar:
This is outdated.
This is patriarchal.
This is old belief.
It’s time to burn it down.
And yet…
my body trembles.
I can feel the conflict:
my soul expanding
while my nervous system contracts.
One voice whispers:
“You’re allowed.”
Another warns:
“Be careful.
You could lose everything.”
Both voices are valid.
One is evolution.
The other is protection.
This is where Neptune in Pisces asks us to soften —
to sit with the fear without letting it rule us.
To notice the illusion
without demanding it disappear overnight.
Because beneath the illusion,
I can feel a faint truth rising:
> Desire isn’t a sin.
Desire is guidance.
It’s the soul pulling me toward nourishment.
It’s not betrayal
to want a life that feels alive.
It’s not betrayal
to feel longing awaken again.
It’s not betrayal
to have more than one truth in my heart.
Desire is not greed.
It’s instinct.
It’s direction.
It’s the beginning of living again.
I am allowed to want more.
Even if I’m scared.
Even if I shake.
Even if the old voices rise up inside me
like ghosts trying to keep me small.
I can honor the women who came before me
and still choose differently.
Their fears kept them safe.
My desire is leading me forward.
This is the reckoning —
to stand at the threshold of old belief
and new truth
and say:
> I am allowed to expand.
I am allowed to love.
I am allowed to change.
I am allowed to want.
Not because I’m abandoning what came before,
but because my soul is evolving
toward what nourishes it.
And that
is not a sin.
It is a return to myself.
