When I was younger, I always looked older than my age — which, as you can imagine, had its advantages and its disasters, haha.

Here in Europe, the legal drinking age is 18. But since I was born in December, all my friends were out having fun months before me while I was still stuck waiting. So… my friends and I came up with what we thought was a brilliant idea at the time.

We made our own IDs! Back then, our bank cards had both our pictures and our birthdates on them. So we carefully cut out new numbers and glued them over the originals. Voilà — instant “grown-ups!”

It worked for quite a while, too… until the day I got busted. 😅 Let’s just say my “brilliance” earned me a little expulsion until I turned 18. Oh lord, I was so embarrassed!

Looking back, I can laugh — it was youthful mischief, the kind that teaches you humility (and creativity, apparently).

💫 Sometimes the stories that make us blush later are the ones that remind us we were busy learning how to live.
