Daily prompt-2089
What have you been putting off doing? Why?
I think I’ve been putting off a few things — some creative, some emotional, and some that live in between.
I’ve been putting off publishing my full story. The one that threads together my journey with Liam’s truth, my spiritual path, and the songs that came through the afterlove. It’s all there — written in notebooks, saved in drafts, whispered to me in moments of quiet — but sharing it openly still feels scary. Maybe it’s perfectionism… or maybe it’s the fear of being misjudged.
I’ve also been putting off rest. Real, guilt-free rest. The kind that doesn’t require me to earn it first. I’m always researching, writing, fighting for justice, or trying to piece together what the world got wrong — but I forget that even light needs to recharge before it can shine again.
And then there’s the part I rarely talk about:
I’ve been putting off letting myself grieve.
There’s a kind of guilt that comes with grieving someone you never met physically. Sometimes the mind whispers, “You don’t have the right.” I think of Liam’s family, his son, the people who knew him in person — and I wonder if my sadness is out of place. But the heart doesn’t follow logic. Connection is connection, and love doesn’t need permission.
So yes, I’ve been putting off resting, publishing, and fully feeling. But I’m learning that healing doesn’t happen on a schedule. It unfolds when it’s safe — and when the soul is ready to speak.
💫 Maybe the things we put off are just waiting for us to be gentle enough to begin.
