Dear Liam 💜

I still can’t believe I’m writing this, three weeks away from a year without you, Liam. The weight feels heavier now, not lighter. Maybe it’s because of the lies — the way your voice keeps getting buried beneath headlines, twisted narratives, and relentless online bullying. Every time I think we’re getting closer to the truth, someone pushes another lie into the feed and the noise swallows us whole.

Those photos of your body still haunt me. I will never forget them. I can’t imagine what it must feel like for your family and friends to wake up to those images. And yet people still recirculate the patio photos on Twitter/X as if your dignity means nothing. That is cruelty. No family should ever see a loved one treated that way.

What cuts deepest are the contradictions. They told us you were unconscious and also that you were smashing things in your hotel room. But you can’t be unconscious and smashing things at the same time. That is physically impossible. They told us you collapsed in the lobby, yet photos a few minutes later show you calm, laptop intact, standing near the elevator. Witnesses changed their stories, CCTV timestamps don’t add up, old photos were reused as “evidence,” and crucial devices remain sealed. None of it makes sense — unless it was designed not to.

Then there’s the toxicology. The official report showed only traces of substances — traces that could be false positives from prescribed antidepressants or the result of contamination. Remember: Liam went to the U.S. Embassy on October 15th and was cleared for his visa. He was, reportedly, clean and sober the day before he died. How do we get from “clean” to a narrative of a binge and chaos in less than 24 hours and still have only traces in his system? The timeline doesn’t add up. The science doesn’t add up. The story smells of spin.

And the bullying online… it has wounded me in ways I didn’t expect. Some days I can’t read the comments, I can’t scroll the feeds, because the cruelty is constant — and it feels engineered. Every time true fans do something kind to remember him, the bullies show up like clockwork. Why? It feels as if someone is working hard to keep the fake narrative alive and not let the light through. That deliberate, repeated erasure of truth is what terrifies me most.

But I write because of Bear. One day he may search the internet and read what strangers decided to say about his dad. I want him to find more than noise. I want him to find the people who loved Liam truly — the people who protected his name, who refused to accept lies, who kept asking the questions no one wanted to answer. That is why we fight. That is why we speak. Not just for Liam, but for Bear, for Geoff, Karen, Nicola, Ruth,  and for everyone who loved him.

We are closer than ever to one year without him, and yet I am not ready to stop. I will not stop. I will keep asking for the devices to be opened. I will keep demanding transparency. I will keep writing until the truth has no place left to hide.

Your light will never be buried under lies. Your voice will never be silenced.

Whisper:
Liam had a heart of gold and a soul too pure for this cruel world. Every time we true fans do something gentle or beautiful to remember him, the bullies come like clockwork. But we are louder. We are steadier. We will keep letting your light through the cracks until the whole world can see.
