“Fake Fans” and the Toxicity in the Fandom
The reason I wanted to write this is because of something I found online recently — two screenshots of hateful, bullying tweets that Liam received in his last year on this planet. 💔😭 I’ll admit, reading them broke me. It made me stop in my tracks and ask: How do you think Liam felt when he saw this? I want to believe he never read them… but being honest, that’s naive. He probably did. And he carried that weight silently, while the world piled on.
That’s why I am writing this. That’s why I vow to keep speaking out.
Because some people call us “fake fans” for speaking the truth. Some even say Liam would hate us for it. But let’s be honest — where were Kate or the others every single time he was attacked online? Because this wasn’t new for Liam. The bullying, the dragging, the endless hate — it followed him for years.
And where were they when the hate piled up, when he needed someone to defend him? Silent. Not once did they step forward to shield him, not once did they speak against the cruelty. Even now, after he’s gone, Kate has never once called for justice. Never once stood against the lies. Never once respected his family’s wishes. Yet somehow, we are expected to stay quiet?
The worst part is how the “fandom” itself has been torn apart — split down the middle with misinformation, toxicity, and attention-seeking. What should have been a safe space of love and healing has instead become filled with noise, cruelty, and division.
But through all of that, there is still a core of us who refuse to let go of what matters: Liam’s truth, Liam’s memory, and Liam’s legacy. That is where our energy will always stay.
Let’s be clear: true fans are the ones who protect, uplift, and defend. True fans are the ones who honor Liam’s memory, who carry his light forward, and who refuse to let lies or hate define him.
Because this isn’t just about us. One day, Liam’s little boy, Bear, will grow up and go online. He will see the things written about his father. 💔😭 And when that day comes, what will he find? A wall of cruelty and hate? Or will he find the truth — that his dad was loved, cherished, and defended fiercely by those who never stopped believing in him?
That is why we fight. That is why we speak. Not just for Liam, but for Bear, for his family, and for the truth that will always outlast the noise.
And to Bear: your dad was a light in this world. He was brave, kind, funny, and full of love. None of the lies or toxicity can ever take that away. 💫 You will always have people out here protecting his name, standing up for him, and keeping the truth alive.
We fight for justice because Liam — your dad — deserves it. And because you deserve to know the real story of who your father was: a hero, a fighter, and a soul who loved deeply.
Always remember: your dad was so loved. And you are, too.

And this TikTok also shows the hate and bullying after Liam went to his former bandmate, Niall Horan’s concert in Argentina the 2 of October.
